Scene Map - Quick Tips

Welcome to your Scene Map Quick Tips.

1. Keep Storyfyre open in a browser tab on any device while writing, editing, revising, drafts, changes...use with any writing software. Simple to use.


2. Add a new Chapter by using the Toolbar icon.

3. Add scenes/texts/beats/goals to any Chapter to map story.

4. chapter icon adds a scene/text/beat/goal to bottom of Chapter.

5. Hover over/tap(touch) scene/text/beat/goal to select it.

6. Double-click/double-tap(touch) a scene/text/beat/goal to quick open the edit panel, write in, view.

7. Hover over/tap(touch) a scene/text/beat/goal to add above or below it. Use + Add buttons.

8. A selected scene/text/beat/goal will also display a popup edit icon to open edit panel.


9. Click/tap(touch) Chapter name to customize and to quick open Chapter information edit panel.

10. Or open Chapter's information edit panel by selecting Edit under its dropdown menu.

11. Use , , and icons to open extended functionality in Storyfyre.


12. Select scene/text/beat/goal then use the icon to drag/drop inside or between Chapters.

13. Drag/drop scene/text/beat/goal anywhere you want.

14. A scene/text/beat/goal dropped outside a Chapter or the work area returns to its original location.

15. Move Chapter by hovering over/tap(touch) the icon to select it.

16. Use the icon to move/drag/drop Chapter wherever you want. A chapter dropped outside the work area returns to its original location.


17. Close(Hide/Condense) or Open(Show/Expand) Chapters under its dropdown menu to give you extra focus.

18. Add Story Arcs, Character Arcs, Story Settings Arcs, filters, plus tags to filter scenes/text/beats/goals.

19. Use/Set Arcs, filters, tags to focus/work faster/better, for better chapters/scenes, for a better story.

20. Create/Edit/Select/Use Arcs on the toolbar and Customized Tags in the filter area to refine Scene Map view. Connect/Tag to them in scenes/texts/beats/goals edit panel.

21. Use Filtered/Unfiltered button to turn Filtered view on or off. Use Filters Count button just to it's right to open Filters panel to set tags/filters.

22. Use Arcs, filters, tags to focus/filter your story view to work on.

23. Selected Arcs, filters, tags show you only the items connected to them.


24. Describe/Map Chapters/Scenes/Beats/Goals to finish a great story.

25. Add images to your Chapters/Scenes, Scene map/view. (Next Version.)

26. Work on/plan your story/stories/drafts/changes anywhere on any device.

27. Take your writing project to the next level using a story/book bible.

28. Set a background image for the software. Get focus and Motivation.

29. Take your Scene Map with you wherever you go.
